Join a team , serve and build community

On Sunday, 25th Feb we will be offering a special opportunity to join a team. We will have sign up tables and people to chat to after church. Here is an overview of different roles for your prayerful consideration.

areas of greatest need

  • The Weekday Creche is open to the broader community and supports gym and swim members who are parents of small children. It is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8-10:15am. We are seeking volunteers to give up one morning each week and work as part of a small team. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for people who love children, are eligible for a Blue Card and willing to complete Child Safety training.

  • During the week, our cafe is a hive of activity. To provide excellent service, we have friendly volunteers helping run food and drinks to tables, sparking conversations with our clientele. Or if you prefer background support, we have opportunities to help wash dishes in our state-of-the-art kitchen while you interact with our friendly staff. Shifts are for 3 hours once a week, with flexibility to take days off as required or to be a casual and fill in spots for others absence.

  • Every Friday afternoon Primary aged children gather in the stadium for an hour and a half of games, craft and a sausage. We need some dedicated adults who are keen to love and serve our community by facilitating this space. We require all types of personalities and skills, from upfront confident leaders to run games, to background helpers for first aid and to cook sausages. Team members must be eligible for a Blue Card and willing to complete Child Safety training. This is either a weekly commitment during school terms from 4-6pm or a casual and fill in spots for others absence.

  • Each week our incredible centre has hundreds of people passing through and using its facilities. The challenge is, every weekend we have to convert our various spaces to host the multitude of church activities, the biggest being preparing the Bball stadium curtains, staging and chairs. To help maintain this unique vision we require volunteers. This would require a 1 in 6 week commitment with an awesome online roster which allows the flexibility to swap and allocate weeks of unavailability for holidays etc. Setup would be between 7-9am with time to return home or have a coffee before the service begins. After the service requires facilitating the packdown where many of our community help but require support knowing what to do.

  • We are excited to launch a furniture delivery service to those clients assisted by the Lifehouse. Many are unable to facilitate their own pick ups so this will complete our service provision to them, helping them fully embrace their new season. Shifts will be up to 4 hours on a variety of days, including Saturdays, all to be determined. No special license required but must be able bodied.

  • Each week our incredible centre has hundreds of people passing through and using its facilities. On a Sunday night we convert our Function room from yoga/gym circuit to a warm and welcoming church service. This would require a 1 in 6 week commitment with an awesome online roster which allows the flexibility to swap and allocate weeks of unavailability for holidays etc. Setup begins at 4:45pm, with a team meeting at 5 and then we spread out and welcome people for a 5:30pm start. After the service requires facilitating the packdown where many of our community help but require support knowing what to do.

  • We would love to have our cafe consistently open on a Sunday and serviced by volunteers from our church community. If you would love to help out and are keen to receive training and gain new skills. We are endeavouring to build a 1 in 6 week roster for people to be available before and/or after the 10am gathering. Please let us know via this form.

weekday opportunities

  • On a Friday night, youth from our church and beyond gather for fun, games, food and to experience the love and welcome of the Goodlife Community expressed in and through our team. Lead by our energetic Youth Pastor, Jono Stewart, this is a fun and rewarding team to be part of. This is a weekly commitment with team members helping setup and pack down the program which runs from 6:30-8:30pm. Team members must be eligible for a Blue Card and willing to complete Child Safety training.

  • The Good English conversational classes provide basic language and social support for individuals and families. Classes are weekly for 90 minutes and there are monthly social activities. TESOL qualifications are required, we are looking for a few teachers to create a new team.

  • Supplying nutritious emergency meals for those in need we are looking for individuals or a Lifegroup to take on this opportunity to cook. Approximately monthly.

  • Throughout the week we love to provide a friendly welcome to those enjoying the centre and cafe space. Our roaming Cafe Chaplains offer this and are available to stop and listen if people are keen to chat. Sometimes support, connection and prayer is also extended. This is a one hour rostered shift during cafe opening hours.

sunday opportunities

  • On a Sunday morning we would love some friendly faces welcoming people into and throughout the building. This is a 1 in 4 week roster with a 9:30am - 10:15am time commitment.

  • Every Sunday morning our amazing Kids Team, lead by Terasa Hardie, transform the Seminar Rooms (& creche) into a safe and fun space for all Kids aged 1 to grade 6. Currently, we host around 80 kids each Sunday and excitingly numbers are going up. We need more dedicated adults who are keen to love and serve our community by helping to facilitate this space. We require all types of personalities and skills, from upfront confident leaders to run games, to background helpers for individual support, setup, packdown and group facilitation. Team members must be eligible for a Blue Card and willing to complete Child Safety training. This is a 1 in 6-week commitment from 9-11:30am.

  • We are a team of musicians, vocalists, photographers, videographers, sound engineers, visual artists and songwriters who love to use our talents to glorify God. Being a part of the team is a weekly commitment as we meet each Wednesday night for rehearsal/team nights, as well as serving on a roster for Sunday. The best way to get involved is to start coming along to our Wednesday nights (7pm on the upstairs Function room); this way you can get to know the team and we can get to know you.

  • On a Sunday morning we would love some friendly faces out in the carpark, welcoming people to our church and assisting them to find a park. This is a 1 in 6 week roster with a 9:30 - 10:15am time commitment.

  • We are currently seeking one more couple/person to help on our tea and coffee roster. This would require a 1 in 6 week commitment with an awesome online roster which allows the flexibility to swap and allocate weeks of unavailability for holidays etc. Setup begins at 9:15am prior to the 10am gathering with service and packdown from 11:15am.
