Kids Update for 2026

Thank you for serving on our Kids team. We are so excited to share in another year of leading, and caring for the children at Goodlife Church.

Please watch the video below or read the text underneath to learn more of what to expect for next year!

Our New Curriculum: KIDSTORY

KidStory is a curriculum that focuses on teaching the Word of God through children’s head, heart, and hands. This means, we’ll be actively exploring bible stories with children to support their knowledge of these stories (heads), what they mean to us individually at a deeper level (hearts), and how they can shape our daily actions (hands). We are aiming to spend some time unpacking and learning new skills to facilitate this new curriculum during our All-In Team Day.

Serving Schedule Change and Ministry Vision

Research tells us that through consistent, warm, respectful interactions, children feel safe and secure, and develop healthy attachments where they can share and express themselves freely. We are moving into a season where open discussions and trusting relationships with children will be pivotal in our ministry. To support children’s ability to freely share with consistent trusted adults, we are changing the regular requirement to serve from once every five weeks, to once every four weeks. I understand that this change may result in needing to re-evaluate your commitment to our Children’s Ministry. I will not be offended or upset if you decide you are no longer able to commit to once every four weeks. However, I encourage you to spend some time reflecting on the importance and result of being a consistent trusted adult in a child’s life, and what an honour that can be.
Moving into four-week rotations will not only enable the children to build meaningful relationships with you, but it will also free me up to support all of our families, our year 6 ‘junior leaders’, new visitors, and most importantly, to step in when you need an extra set of hands. I want to be more available every week to support all of you and to empower the incredible strengths and skills you bring to our team.

Message us any concerns.
